Creators of the Master Roofers Guarantee of New Brunswick 5 Year Guarantee program

You have reached the home page for the Master Roofers Guarantee of New Brunswick (or "MRGNB"). During the late 1980's, the New Brunswick Roofing Contractors Association (or "NBRCA") formed a review committee to look at a 5 year warranty program for industrial, institutional and commercial roofs. The NBRCA then formed the MRGNB in February, 1990.

Overview
The MRGNB was developed when several roofing contractors in the Province of New Brunswich got together as a group and looked at providing an extended warranty for roof applications. Customers had voiced the need and demand for better products after the 1970’s and 1980’s, an era marked with a high number of roof application failures. At the time, the average roof in Canada would last approximately 7 years. Needless to say the roofing Industry was in disarray. There was not only a need, but also a demand for a better roofing solution. Customers wished to be provided with a better quality product and were willing to pay for a better product, provided that they get some longevity out of it.

Through negotiation and discussion with the major building owners and the contractors we the members of the MRGNB felt we had to provide a better product and therefore spent 2 years and several thousand dollars developing a set of standards, which are now set out in a specification manual, maintenance manual and operational manual. The manuals specify how to install roofs, how to apply roofs, how to build roofs. Customers can expect longevity out of a roof constructed by an MRGNB member contractor.

As a result of what was implemented in the early 90’s, no member of the MRGNB has had a major failure. There has been some service work, and some deficiencies that required attention but other than that, no major failures in 15 years.

Because members of the MRGNB are by default members of the NBRCA, any company or organization which deals with an MRGNB roofing contractor can be assured that such a contractor, unlike other, non member contractors, place special emphasis on:
  • Safety
  • Training
  • Insurance, including proper endorsements
The point being that an MRGNB member contractor brings not only materials and plans to a job site, but peace of mind as well. Remember, MRGNB members distinguish themselves from non-member roofing companies by providing performance bonds for their work and are responsible for their own guarantee program.

Members of the MRGNB are distinguished from their counterparts in the New Brunswick Roofing Contractors Association ("NBRCA") via the focus on industrial, institutional and commercial roofs.
